A row of bath boxes, bright and bold,
Striped in sunshine, red and gold.
Set by the sand where waves embrace,
A timeless charm, a seaside grace.
Yet midst the hues of ocean’s cheer,
One lone figure—oddly here.
A jumper thick, in woolen weight,
As if the sun could not relate.
Head bent low, eyes on screen,
Lost in a world unseen.
While gulls cried out and breezes played,
He scrolled, aloof, his gaze delayed.
Did he seek the tides of thought?
Or answers that the sea forgot?
While Brighton’s boxes stood in line,
He missed their magic, lost in time.

Very good
ReplyDeleteChecking his messages after his swim?
ReplyDeleteHe doesnt look the sort
DeleteParece como si le hubieran castigado a estar en esa posición por portarse mal, jeje.
ReplyDeleteLike detention duties
DeleteI really like the frame and that luminosity.
ReplyDeleteHigh key approach
DeleteA very nice selective blur to highlight the main character of the image!
ReplyDeleteBokeh is fun
DeleteHere's hoping he is no fan of the product advertised on his jumper. That whiskey has been the downfall of many young men, but a day at the beach is always better than a day at work.
ReplyDeleteModern day woo
DeleteI like the contrast.
ReplyDeleteSeagulls on the right side were looking for supper.
Gulls do what gulls do
DeleteRight :-)
DeleteMirando la pantalla se pierde mucha de las cosas bellas que puede haber a su alrededor.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
Best to engage in the environment
DeleteCada cual ocupando su lugar ante su caseta. Un bonito recorrido por esa genial fotografía con un estupendo monocromo.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo
What a superb poem in which you invoked the spirit of summer, with the beach huts, sand, seagulls, and the caretaker, uninterested in the beautiful scenery—because for him it represents the "daily wallpaper"—but focused on his phone... This detail is very well highlighted! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteNow, who would have thought of taking photos of our brightly painted bathing boxes in black and white! What it does do is accentuate the person over the bathing boxes. He would otherwise be swallowed by the colours.
ReplyDeleteAndrew, I am surprised that you visit this blog too. I am just over the traditional style of photography. Do what I want here
DeletePensive. Lovely street candid.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great shot! I like the aesthetic blur.
ReplyDelete¡Me encanta!
ReplyDeleteThe sand is cold. 🙂
