By St Paul’s shade, where spires climb high,
A hush beneath the bustling sky—
Two souls in pause, a fleeting scene,
Among the stones and city green.
One stands in shorts, knee-length and neat,
The other rests with crossed-up feet,
A coffee warm within her hand,
As traffic hums across the land.
They talk of nothing, maybe dreams,
While sunlight dances off the beams;
A pocket space the world walks past,
But here, the morning dares to last.
Just off the lane where few things stay,
Two people meet, then drift away.

The fellow on the left looks like it could be native dress, but I have no idea what culture. The jumper looks Nordic. Lovely light in your photo.
ReplyDeleteI think it is typical street wear in the streets
DeleteThat dramatic light source!
ReplyDeleteA common scene going through the region
DeleteA melancholic photograph, with shadows and lights, with arches and impressive flooring.
ReplyDeleteIt is always looking sad
DeleteI love how you managed to control the light without missing a detail, inside or out!
ReplyDeleteDown stops a few steps
DeleteLovely shot :-D
ReplyDeleteFeels high contrast
DeleteVery nice place for cup of coffee or what ever. Great shot too. Light at the end of the tunnel...is you.
ReplyDeleteVery expensive for coffee there
DeleteLovely
ReplyDeleteA sonnet in iambic tetrameter. Maybe they all have been. I’ve noticed the tetrameter before but not the 14 lines.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that you said it.
DeleteUn buen B/N en un pasaje donde sucede la vida y tienes la posibilidad de ralajarte.
ReplyDeleteIt has to be quick
DeleteIncreíble control de luces. Ese lugar tiene una atmósfera muy especial por cómo le llega la luz. El encuadre incluyendo toda la escena es genial y logra que uno se sienta partícipe de ese lugar.
ReplyDeleteNot really revealing faces of pedestrians
DeleteGreat perspective. Also like the poem.
ReplyDeleteYou are an amazing artist.
ReplyDeleteLove the lighting!
ReplyDeleteThis one reads like a whispered poem to the city—so fleeting, yet full of presence. I love how you capture those quiet in-between moments where time almost stands still. Beautiful work as always.
ReplyDeleteLight at the end of the tunnel.
ReplyDeleteI love your poem that fits the shot. Well done as always.
