A chap in shorts, legs crossed with ease,
sits on the iron bench, sunlit, at Bourke Street Mall
the noon warmth paints his knees with gold,
the city hums, a tram bell calls.
Shadows drift like passing moods,
a breeze tugs softly at his sleeve;
around him, shoppers flow like tides,
but he — he stays, content to breathe.
Melbourne glows in tempered glass,
and time, for him, forgets to move
a chap in shorts beneath the sun,
at peace with nothing left to prove.

He is sitting alone and watching for people. Perhaps he is waiting for someone. It is a beautiful day in this park. Your photo raises many questions.
ReplyDeleteIt is actually in the middle of city on the broad mall
DeleteSeems odd these days to see a person just looking around, instead of being absorbed in his cell phone.
ReplyDeleteChecking out chicks there I am sure
DeleteMe gusta como has situado al personaje siguiendo la regla de los tercios y además rodeado de sillas para que la atención se centre en él sin duda ninguna.
ReplyDeleteAbrazo
Off centre composition is always a reflex for me
DeleteUna fotografía enmarcada entre asientos. La expresión del hombre es de estar expectante ante algo o alguna situación.
ReplyDeleteOr a beggar comes approaching for some gold coins
DeleteM'agrada molt aquest conjunt de línies del banc i les cadires.
ReplyDeleteSalutacions!
I should try abstract photography on these benches

ReplyDeleteAn interesting character who stops to rest, while life around him never stops.
