beneath grand arches and retail laws
while windows whisper, “Buy, become,”
he stands immune, politely numb.
Around him swirls the market’s tide,
soft chatter, footsteps side to side,
yet in this cathedral of glass and spend,
he queues for nothing… and wins in the end.
