Melbourne Candid Series #1339 Collins St

Under the sign of the Beehive’s hum,
the city conducts its daily drum
heels click, wheels roll, a pram in tow,
everyone somewhere they must go.

A man strides past with purpose stern,
as if the world might pause his turn;
while children drift in looser schemes,
unbothered architects of dreams.

Between the shops and tiled parade,
a thousand tiny choices made
to look, to rush, to linger, hive
this is how a street stays alive.

  1. Many shoppers on the street. The young family looks happy to be out together. The fellow on the right side looks like he is on a mission. He knows exactly where he is going.

  4. A payphone! They've all but disappeared here. It is a good picture. The purposeful strider is hurrying to meet his love-- so it's OK.
