They stand at the corner and wait for the sign,

Where paths of the strangers briefly align.

Beneath the broad awning in silver and grey,

The city moves forward to start a new day.

A moment of stillness, a pause in the stride,

Before they all scatter and drift with the tide.

The crosswalk will clear and the signal turn green,

As life carries onward, a shifting city scene

The carousel turns in a circle of light,
Spinning through shadows and into the night.
With horses of wooden and mechanical grace,
They chase after time in a breathless embrace.

The music rings out with a whimsical sound,
As laughter and memory travel around.
A moment frozen in silver and grey,
Before the sweet carnival fades far away.

The city moves in shades of grey,

As evening steals the light of day.

Along the stone, the people stride,

With quiet shadows by their side.

They walk past towers tall and grand,

Through the heart of concrete land.

Each stranger sharing time and space,

Within the city’s fleeting grace.

Underneath the velvet night,

The food truck glows with steady light.

A crowd gathers in the shade,

Where sweet melon dreams are made.

The signs call out to passing feet,

For refreshing juice and creamy treat.

Though the world is black and grey,

Warmth and flavor lead the way.

Beneath the arching ribs of steel and light,

A shifting sea of souls moves through the night.

The shadows dance along the crowded street,

To the steady rhythm of a thousand feet.

The towering bridge stands silent, dark, and high,

A silver crescent etched against the sky.

While down below, the fleeting moments glow,

In the endless, breathing city's steady flow.

The food truck shines with festive light.
A crowd gathers in the evening shade,
Where sweet and frosty treats are made.

"Melon Fiesta," the banners cry,
Underneath the darkened sky.
With juicy drinks and ice cream cold,
A summer story gently told.

The glowing glass reflects a sushi sign,

Where passing strangers cross a blurry line.

They carry bags and walk their separate ways,

Lost in the rhythm of the city's maze.

One leans in silence, staring at a screen,

An quiet witness to the evening scene.

The sidewalk hums with footsteps moving fast,

A modern moment made to fade at last.

Beneath the glow of festive lights,
They gather on a joyful night,
With music floating through the air,
And costumes lively everywhere.

A keytar strums a playful beat,
As dancers step with moving feet,
Beside the trucks of food and fun,
The celebration has begun.

They share a laugh, they join the song,
As happy rhythms march along,
A fleeting night of bright delight,
Before it fades into the night.

The shadows stretch across the floor,
As evening gathers at the door.
Beneath the striped and canvas awning,
The hungry stir, from dusk to morning.

A glowing sign of rice and spice,
Invites them to this warm device.
They sit in booths and softly speak,
To share the comfort that they seek.

The clink of plates, the hum of sound,
Where weary travelers are bound.
A transient home in silver light,
Against the closing of the night.

The shadows fall, the night grows late,
As crowds move past the festival gate.
Beneath the banners, bold and bright,
The signs spark up the evening light.

The vendors call, the pathways fill,
A bustling hum, a sudden thrill.
Through gentle shade of overhead trees,
They walk along the summer breeze.

A moment shared, a passing glance,
Lost in the evening's lively dance.
Though captured here in black and white,
The spirit shines throughout the night.

A silent figure by the door
Sends through the room a sudden chill.

With patterned suit and painted face,
He stands beneath the fading light,

To haunt the quiet hours of night.

The painted walls cry out in jest,
While heavy silence fills the air,
A circus put to final rest,
With only nightmares waiting there.
