The shadows stretch across the stone,
Where busy streets are softly known.
By window glass and fashion's name,
The city plays its daily game.
A rider glides on spinning wheels,
Past structured columns, stone, and steel.
A walker strides along the way,
To catch the fading light of day.
Though frozen in a frame of gray,
The hurried world moves on its way.
Each stranger passing by the view,
Has paths to take and miles to do.
