She walked as though the street were hers,
With summer tied in scarves and curves.
He trailed beside, half lost, half wise,
Still reading maps instead of eyes.
The city buzzed with sales and heat,
Neon dripping down the street.
She wore one look that seemed to say:
“I know exactly where we’re going.”
He wore another:
“Hopefully.”
