Down Little Bourke, mid city’s hum,
A man walks on, his fingers numb.
His hairline fades with time’s embrace,
Yet focus lights his solemn face.
Eyes fixed upon the glowing screen,
Unmoved by all the urban scene,
He drifts through crowds in silent zone,
A world away, yet not alone.

ReplyDeleteYour words and image capture such a powerful moment — the quiet isolation that can exist even in the middle of a busy city. I love how the poem mirrors the photo so well, highlighting the contrast between the bustling surroundings and the man's inward focus. Beautifully observed and beautifully written!
