Two men alike, with mirrored face,
In Flinders’ shadow, find their place.
One upright stands, phone in hand,
The other sits, as if he planned
To mirror thought in silent air,
Twin figures lost in digital stare.
The station looms with urban grace,
Time etched deep in every face.
But to the left—a ghost in frame,
An Italian man, unknown by name.
In black and white, he walks alone,
A traveler through this monochrome.
Three souls, one frame, and time stands still,
Each chasing moments, each their will.

An excellent scene, one of the many that can be seen in a place as busy as this station!
ReplyDeleteThey are obstructing the steps
DeleteFour out of six people in that photo are on their phones.
ReplyDeleteThe iconic time
DeleteA station is a great place to observe people...
ReplyDeleteSometimes riots too
DeleteVery good
ReplyDeleteEasy to see the Italian man, which you've mentioned in your poem, is on the left side of the photo. Isn't it?
ReplyDeleteYeah I could be wrong
DeleteHay más contactos entre las personas con el móvil que las que puede haber en compañía física de esa misma persona.
ReplyDeleteFeliz semana.
Younger generation does not do that
DeleteEveryone is on their phones.
ReplyDeleteTrue
Delete...what would people do without their phone?
ReplyDeleteViolence?
DeletePienso que ya hice mi comentario pero parece ser que estoy confundido. Una escena en la que la realidad circula y está presente en casi todo menos en la mente de los presentes que se distraen en otra realidad paralela.
ReplyDeleteAlmost mirror images of these two men checking out their cellphones.
ReplyDeleteNice candid street capture.
ReplyDeleteThis is a stunning blend of poetry and street photography—evocative, layered, and deeply human. The mirrored posture of the two men captures our modern digital trance, while the lone traveler drifting through the edge of the frame adds a haunting, cinematic touch. Your verse paints the scene with quiet reverence, turning an everyday moment into a thoughtful meditation on time, presence, and anonymity. The monochrome aesthetic enhances the timelessness beautifully. This piece lingers in the mind—both visually and emotionally. Brilliantly composed in every sense.
ReplyDeleteGreat moments
ReplyDeleteEveryone's on their phones. It looks like a dystopian future.
