A flash of lycra, vivid, tight,
A helmet gleams in morning light.
Down Elizabeth, swift and free,
A biker blurs like poetry.
The city hums, the pavement sings,
Wheels spin dreams on fleeting wings.
Steel and flesh in motion blend—
A rush, a roar, the street’s own friend.
Between the buildings tall and gray,
The cyclist carves a fleeting way.
With every pedal, swift and sure,
The pulse of Melbourne rides secure.

ReplyDeleteI could almost hear the hum of the city and feel the breeze from that flash of lycra! Such vivid imagery it truly captures the spirit and rhythm of Melbourne. A joy to read from start to finish!
Nice action shot.
ReplyDeleteThis fellow is a serious bicyclist who likely spends time training, and perhaps racing in local club races, but he is not a member of the Quick Step racing team as these shorts are a few years old, and he is not wearing the current team jersey. But he is capable of exceeding the speed limit on many city streets.

ReplyDeleteGreat job on capturing the cyclist in motion.
ReplyDeleteSplendid photo! I am always happy to see cyclists wearing helmets.
ReplyDeleteVa bien equipado, con la protección del casco por si tuviera una caída.
ReplyDeleteNice
ReplyDeleteWhat a vibrant picture you’ve painted. Your poem pulses with the energy of the city and the beauty of movement. Each verse is like a pedal pushing us forward through a dynamic Melbourne, bathed in morning light and traced by the free spirit of the cyclist. And the photo… is the cherry on top! 🍒📸
