Upon Swanston Street, where footsteps meet,
A lone man walks in midday heat.
With earphones snug and singlet white,
He strides ahead, lost from all sight.
The city's hum fades to a tone,
For in his world, he walks alone.
Eyes widely shut, no glance is thrown—
This is his hour, he is the zone.

ReplyDeleteEnjoying it
DeleteHe was deep in his own world...
ReplyDeleteIsn't that wonderful
DeleteMusic isolates this young man from the world. He walks with his gaze fixed without any other worries.
ReplyDeleteSometimes that is a gift
DeleteEscuchando música se camina con más ritmo.
ReplyDeleteThat is how I enjoy my walk too
DeleteA fine looking young fellow! Great shot :-D
ReplyDeleteHe looks lean
DeleteHe was thoughtful or listening to music.
ReplyDeleteMe gusta mucho el encuadre buscando esa figura definida en primer plano uy a la izquierda del encuadre para dejar el lado derecho a ese desenfoque que equilibra la foto.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. He's in the zone, indeed. Well done as always.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ☺
He is obviously tuned into his inner world of sound and ideas, and is shutting out current reality by closing his eyes. This is not a good idea while walking down the street.
ReplyDeleteI wonder, do you write the poems and go looking for the shot or the other way around. Either way both are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteYour poem is perfect! Has anyone gotten upset when you have taken their picture?
