On Bourke Street Mall where footsteps blend,
The old stone building stands, a friend.
Its steps now cradle, side by side,
The city's pulse, its beating tide.
From every corner of the earth,
They gather here with quiet mirth
A sari bright, a woven braid,
A turban’s fold, a youth’s cascade.
They speak in silence, laugh in light,
Some scroll their screens, some face the night.
A busker hums, a tram rolls by,
And pigeons watch with beady eye.
No throne nor crown, yet seated high,
They form a world beneath the sky.
A staircase turned to common ground
Here, all the human notes are found.

Wonderful street photo of these people sitting on the steps. They look like students waiting for a class. The people look diverse with many different groups represented.
ReplyDeleteThe steps are always full of people sitting down
DeleteThis is a great photo! It is fun to look at all the expressions on their faces, and wonder what they are thinking :)
