At the chef’s table, silence glowed,
steam rose soft where the ladle flowed
a Japanese chef, calm, precise,
poured hot soup like melted ice.
Porcelain gleamed beneath his hand,
a ritual few could understand;
each motion slow, each gesture clear,
the art of warmth made near.
Behind him, laughter gently spilled
a young yuppie pair, bright-eyed, fulfilled;
their words flew quick, their smiles alive,
as flavours and dreams began to thrive.
Between the steam and chatter’s song,
the moment lingered, brief yet strong
a world of taste, of talk, of flame,
each heart stirred much the same.

This may be a good restaurant, but the art work on the wall is disturbing. The woman in that picture looks dead. Not something I want to see while I'm eating.
ReplyDeleteEngaging conversation while chef prepares meal.
ReplyDeleteYour words describe the scene so well.
ReplyDelete"Do you like my nails," she asked. And Jeff is right--- the woman in the picture does look like the victim of foul play.
ReplyDeleteNo saps com agraeixo aquesta conversa, mentre el chef està en lo que ha d'estar. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSalutacions!
He looks so happy at his work :-D I love the angle of this photo :-D
