Melbourne Candid Series #1256 Flagstaff Garden

Beneath the tent’s soft shadowed hue,
He stands in stillness, eyes of blue,
A vendor framed by noon’s slow heat,
Where smells of food and voices meet.

His shirt declares with cheerful play,
Baleadas—Everyday!
Yet in his gaze, a quiet depth,
A thought unspoken, softly kept.

The flag behind him folds and sways,
A whisper of far sunlit days,
While in his hands, the moment stays,
Between the pause of work and gaze.

Around, the fair moves loud and wide,
But he remains—calm, dignified,
A poet’s poise in market’s din,
The world reflected deep within.

  1. Tu texto convierte un instante cotidiano en un retrato lleno de silencios. El vendedor, entre banderas y voces, se vuelve símbolo de calma y dignidad. En medio del bullicio, aparece la poesía: la mirada guarda un mundo entero.
    Saludos.

  3. Wonderful shot and poem. I laugh because I noticed the cigarette in his hand.

  7. Great photo and description of his "thought unspoken".

  8. That is a look of deep suspicion if ever I saw one. Perhaps he is objecting to having his photo taken feeling that you are capturing his sole?

  9. I love the look in his eyes. He wasn't looking at you.

  10. Se adivina un puesto de venta ambulante en el que el vendedor observa a los paseantes a la espera de vender algo de lo que presenta. Buen gesto en la cara de ese hombre.
    Un abrazo
