On Elizabeth Street the footpath hums,
a parade of errands, coffees, and crumbs.
One bloke plants himself — thongs, camera, glare
hunting a masterpiece mid-retail warfare.
Shoppers drift like tides through glass-front seas,
someone checks sport scores with grave expertise.
The bench waits patiently, wiser than most,
watching Melbourne rush while the moment strikes a pose.

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing at MosaicMonday. A great shot again...
ReplyDelete"Shoppers drift like tides through glass-front seas." Wow! You are a talented poet, Roentare. Your reference to crumbs made me look for birds which are everywhere in Waikiki. They are brazen and think nothing of landing on your table and trying to steal a crump. Terry says he's bringing a water pistol next year to try to drive them off. Happy weekend to you!
ReplyDeleteTwo photographers photographing each other... Thanks for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme.
