Melbourne Candid Series #1327 Swanston St

Time hangs twice above the street,
polished, precise, and slightly discreet.

Under the quiet command of Rolex,
seconds behave—at least on paper.

Two friends stroll with laughter in tow,
while windows sell futures they may never know.

A couple leans in, inspecting the cost
of hours well-kept—and hours well lost.

Meanwhile the pavement keeps its own beat:
cheap, unbranded, stubbornly sweet.

  1. Your photo clearly shows pairs of people out shopping. Somehow I doubt these two guys are shopping for Rolex watches. ;-)

  3. Hi, Roentare! I was just talking to a neighbor yesterday, and he was telling me that years ago his wife wanted to buy him a Rolex watch. He laughed and said he'd rather have a new truck. So a couple of days later she buys him a new truck. (They had lots of money, obviously). He never did get a Rolex. Maybe I should get one, if seconds behave under the quiet command of Rolex. My seconds, minutes, and hours have not been behaving lately. 😂. Story of my life! But I have many other things I'd rather spend money on. I saw an old tv quiz show once, and one of the questions asked was what women look at in a man. I was shocked to hear that the #1 answer, by far, was his watch! SilIy me, I guessed eyes (And Terry has beautiful eyes!). I enjoyed all three couples your delightful photo captured. I was intrigued by the two sisters (?) walking together companionably in the background. Have a great week!

  4. Una calle que parece tranquila por la que la gente pasea y mira los escaparates. Bonita escena callejera
