On Collins Street he strides, mid-thought, mid-day,
glasses parked like a question that wandered astray.
Bag in one hand, purpose in doubt,
as the city flows briskly around and about.
A look that says, “Was it left… or right?”
or perhaps just wrestling lunch or life.
Meanwhile the footpath keeps perfect time
Melbourne’s quiet, unbothered rhyme.

ReplyDeleteSalutacions.
Wonderful photo. I wish I had your gift for observing people. I admire you. Greetings from springtime Poland.
ReplyDeleteYo diría que de sorpresa o disgusto por tu fotografía. A pesar de la buena captura.
ReplyDelete"Where are my glasses?"
ReplyDeleteHe looks tired after a long walk.
ReplyDeleteHow hard the life of a tourist is! 😉
This middle-aged man is older than most of the rest of the crowd on Collins Street. Perhaps he is just doing a bit of shopping? Or perhaps he is drawn there by the food offered, as you point out.
ReplyDeleteHe does look a bit lost--- and perhaps a bit afraid.
ReplyDeleteLooks confused haha! :-D
ReplyDeleteI think the guy looks like just having a heart burnt after a heavy carb. lunch...
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a tired wanderer. A very good photo.
ReplyDeleteYou always capture the interesting moments! So many scenerios could be playing out in his mind. But I've noticed your commentators have fun guessing.
ReplyDeleteYour poem is great too!
Loved this interesting photo, Roentare. That would be me rummaging through my purse. 😂
