Melbourne Candid Series #1340 Bourke St Mall

Only in the city, the billboard insists
and right on cue, tradition persists:
a Highland tune in a Melbourne street,
where sneakers pass tartan and marching feet.

He stands like a memory slightly misplaced,
feathers and fur in a glass-fronted haste;
the crowd flows by in a modern blur,
but time slows down in the pipes’ soft whirr.

Concrete and culture in quiet collision
heritage busks without supervision;
and somewhere between the old and the new,
the city shrugs: why not? …and walks through.

  1. Qué anacrónico se ve así tan solo

  2. Un músico en la ciudad, en medio de la calle siempre es un episodio a fotografiar. Más en este caso por tratarse de este ejemplar con esas ropas particulares

  3. An extraordinary and timely image.
    The poster already announces it, but the poor bagpiper is completely out of place.

  10. Nobody seems interested... It looks like he'd be too hot in that outfit.

  13. Okay ~ Now we're talking ~ a piper in full dress! I would have loved to hear him play. Is my Scottish heritage showing ~ 😂
