A tram exhales and people spill,
each carrying errands, moods, and will
a dress caught mid-argument with the breeze,
a face that says Mondays, if you please.
The trees lean in like gossiping friends,
the footpath bends but never ends;
between a recycle sign and a passing glare,
the city sorts more than bottles and air.
No one quite stops, yet stories collide
in every stride, a life mid-tide;
and somewhere between the rush and the wait,
a moment shrugs… then catches the gate.

It's always interesting to me that people don't smile. Nice photo of life.

ReplyDeleteYour photo is different from your usual street photo of healthy looking young people walking with athletic steps in their shorts and trainers. This crowd looks more middle-aged with larger belt lines common of people with little exercise and rich diets.
ReplyDeleteIt is really a different sort of energy
DeleteM'agrada molt això "de les històries xoquen en cada pas".
ReplyDeleteSalutacions!
It is kind of true
DeleteGreat street shot, but an even greater description! Your "stories" sometimes knock me out!
ReplyDeleteWhen I come back reading them, they give me a different feel too
DeleteMe encanta la ironía y el dinamismo de tus versos. El blanco y negro de la foto cobra una vida increíble con esa radiografía de la prisa urbana.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
Thanks for the time putting comments here
DeleteBusy though she isn't too happy!
ReplyDeleteI love your photo. Street scenes are always great. Hugs and best regards.
ReplyDeleteSuch a crowded sidewalk. This photo reminds me the importance of both recycling waste and Melbourne’s public transport system.
ReplyDeleteYour poetic commentary brings this photo alive, Roentare!
