Along the street where footsteps flow,
The years move on in quiet tide;
Each bears a burden none may know,
Yet keeps a little strength and pride.
The city's heart beats swift and loud,
Its countless lives like leaves are blown;
Still every face within the crowd
Walks to a story of its own.
