Beneath the roofs of glass and steel,
The noon sun pours a silver light;
While voices drift, and moments steal
Their fleeting shadows into flight.

Umbrellas bloom above the crowd,
And strangers pause, then pass away
Yet in this quiet world, somehow,
Time lingers for a little day.
