Brisbane Candid Series #1462 Brisbane CBD

A cyclist weaves through concrete lines,
Past crowded streets and grand designs,
Where hurried souls press on ahead,
By unseen, daily duties led.
Upon the bench, two figures stay,
To share the quiet of the day,
A gentle pause, a peaceful state,
While all the world moves fast and straight.
The cobblestones beneath them spread,
Reflecting tracks where many tread,
A fleeting glimpse of city grace,
Caught in a sudden, structured space.

  1. That guy sure is wearing his bike helmet at a jaunty angle. Don't know if that's recommended, from a safety point of view.

  2. The fellow on the bike is not really a bike rider. It is an electric bike, so he doesn't have to peddle if he doesn't want to, and his seat is way too low to do real peddling without hurting his knees. Good street action shot.

  3. I wonder what the 2 in the corner are talking about?

  4. Una imagen que revela que algunos ciclistas no respetan las normas. No circular por las aceras, son un vehículo.

    Salutacions.

  6. A very good photo. A busy place that stretches deep into the background.

  8. I just discovered that I've missed a number of your posts due to blogger's problems. My reading list started working again, but only about the first half of of the list. Frustrating.

  9. It's really a great photo that shows how people enjoy that Brisbane's sidewalk.

  10. I like those urban images.
People walking hurriedly, the cyclist disrupting the general harmony, and the two older people chatting calmly while sitting on a bench.
