Melbourne Candid Series #1214 Centre Place

A sign reads shops,
letters simple, pointing nowhere
and everywhere.

Beneath it,
three men in baseball caps
move down the narrow corridor,
their footsteps a rhythm
on stone that remembers
a thousand mornings.

Shadows bend along the walls,
lanterns blink,
the lane breathes with coffee and rain,
while the word shops
hangs above them,
a small command,
a promise of doors opening
into the heart of Melbourne.

  1. The two younger men are following the lead to the older man in the middle. They have all just come from buying drinks. Great slice of life photo.

  2. Looks like dad and sons enjoying their day.

  3. Toda una tentación para muchos. "Tiendas". Los tres hombres no parece que vayan a caer en la tentación de las compras. Ellos van a su conversación sin más. Me gusta mucho como logras esos blancos.
    Un abrazo

  4. With your usual mastery you show us the "rhythm" of the streets!

  7. That's nice. I like the idea of how old the stone they are walking on is, and how it remembers. A lot to remember.
