the sun catching on the metal,
on her smile half-hidden.
Behind her, the Mexican mural
spills its colour across the food truck
chilies, saints, and swirling blossoms
a feast painted before the feast.
She lifts the skewer,
a small moment in a busy day,
yet framed by all that colour
it becomes its own bright story.
