On Lonsdale’s pavement the city streams,
A river of errands, bags, and schemes.
Caps pulled low, and faces set,
Each chasing a clock they haven’t met.
One wheels supper home for tea,
One scrolls through life invisibly,
While shoppers march in casual file—
Urban ballet, block by mile.
The lights say wait, the feet say go;
The city hums in monochrome flow.
