Melbourne Candid Series #1211 Flagstaff Garden

Within Flagstaff’s quiet, leafed embrace
She stands apart from traffic, stone, and haste,
Her face a careful map of ritual grace,
Drawn not for show, but memory’s chaste paste.

White settles on her skin like borrowed bone,
Dark marks bloom where breath and thought reside;
The garden holds its pause, a softened tone,
As if the city listens from outside.

Her earrings swing like circles without end,
Echoes of dances older than this ground;
In measured calm, her stillness seems to mend
The fractured hours that crowd the city’s sound.

No words are spoken, yet the meaning stays:
Here culture walks where office towers rise.
Flagstaff remembers other, deeper days,
And through her face, their quiet truths reprise.

O shaded paths, O lawn and trembling tree,
You frame her not as spectacle, but sign
That even here, in measured modernity,
The ancient heart keeps time with breath and line.

Melbourne Candid Series #1250 Exhibition St

Two large ladies, side by side,
One in pants, one skirted wide,
No laughter shared, no word, no glance,
Just silence in their steadfast stance.

At Exhibition Street they wait,
The red light hums, the hour late,
Beside them, old man, lean and spare,
Clutches his strap with practiced care.

His cap pulled low, his gaze ahead,
The city murmurs, faintly fed,
He braces, poised for the signal’s gleam,
Green will cut through this heavy dream.

Three still figures in the rain of sound,
Each earthbound, yet unbound,
Melbourne holds its breath a beat,
Before the lights release their feet.

Melbourne Candid Series #1212 Centre Place

A misted late morning,
lanes breathe with coffee steam,
shoes scuff cobblestones,
voices fold into the narrow air.

She stands in a sports bra,
light striking her shoulders,
beside him—
a man with a T-shirt,
slurpee in hand,
both gazing outward.

Crowds press past windows,
shops hum with colour and clatter,
and for a moment
they are still,
two figures
watching the current
of Melbourne flow around them.

Melbourne Candid Series #1185 De Graves St

On De Graves Street, a restless tide,
A young man walks with hopeful stride.
His gaze pursues a fleeting flame,
A lady bold, with beauty’s claim.

Her dress is light, the hemline high,
It dances free with passing sky.
Her legs, unveiled, the crowd admire,
She moves as though the stones inspire.

He follows close with easy air,
In casual clothes, without much care.
But every step betrays his aim—
To catch her glance, to spark a flame.

The city hums, the moment brief,
Desire laced with shy belief.
On cobbled lane where strangers meet,
A silent play unfolds the street.

Melbourne Candid Series #1182 De Graves St

On De Graves Street,
he settles into the chair’s embrace,
a small table before him
like an island of pause
amid the city’s restless tide.

Shorts bare his knees to the morning air,
yet the photograph permits no season
only the hush of black and white,
where his coffee steams invisibly,
a secret warmth the lens refuses.

Here he leans,
cup lifted in quiet ritual,
as though the whole lane
were distilled to this moment:
a man, a table,
and time poured slowly
into porcelain.

Melbourne Candid Series #952 Acland St

Upon the bustling thoroughfare of Acland Street, St. Kilda, there stood two aged riders, their motorbikes gleaming like relics of a bygone era. Engaging in earnest conversation with a venerable elder, they cast shadows long and thoughtful in the afternoon sun. There, amidst the ebb and flow of modernity, history and wisdom interwove, as tales of the road were shared in the language of experience and time.

On Beach Road, St. Kilda, Melbourne, in the charming grayscale world, the front rider beckons with a classic thumbs-up, as if to say, 'Keep pedaling, mate. The journey's the joy".

Nobu is a place with many memories. The toro is not that great but costing heaps. I had many great memories in the place with various people in the life journey.

After testing out most focal lengths for street photography, I still prefer 24mm the best. Ideally it would be 35mm that does the best in the past experiences. I just have not invested in a 35mm prime anymore.

Melbourne Candid Series #397 Uncle Tetsu Cheese Cake

This was a popular cheesecake shop imported from Japan. The original one in Osaka was really soft and tender to taste, melting in the mouth immediately. Not sure about this one though
